Cyrus Mirakhor, Co-Founder: attained his Master’s Certification in Documentary Film from the George Washington University in 2002, and completed the University of California Los Angeles Extension Certification Program in Directing in 2012. “The Beating” is his second major fictional film. His previous film Gratitude made the festival circuit rounds in 2012 won Best Comedy at the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival (PIFF) and was accepted into major film festivals including Oaxaca International Film Festival, Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival, TVIFF, and Action on Film Festival.  In his world away from film Cyrus is the Director of Solutions Architecture for ConnectSolutions based in San Francisco.

Paul Stroili, Co-Founder: Is the Managing Director of LA’s acclaimed SeaGlass Theatre and co-host of LA’s top-rated arts podcast, State of the Arts with Michael Sterling and Paul Stroili.  In addition to the short film, The Beating, other writing credits include the plays My Dinner with Arlecchino, Renaissance Geek and Cheese Louise.  He has written for Los Angeles Magazine, NY Blade, The Chicago Tribune and The LA Stage Alliance. As an actor, his television credits include Undercover Bridesmaid along with Malcolm in the Middle, Brother’s Keeper, Getting Personal, Chance of a Lifetime, Help Me and The Untouchables, as well as the films The Beating, Gratitude, Karaoke Man, Cold Justice and The Real Whatever. Paul was nominated for an Ovation Award for Best Solo Performance and an LA Weekly Award for his autobiographical solo show; Paul Stroili’s Straight Up with a Twist, which enjoyed over 1400 performances nationwide, culminating in a twice extended Off Broadway run. At SeaGlass Theatre, he directed their acclaimed productions: A Christmas Twist and Of Grapes and Nuts, for which he received a Garland Award nomination. His performance as “Hal” in the SeaGlass production of Kvetch, garnered him Broadway World nomination for best actor.
