Kicking off the season at Farmers Alley Theatre / Fall 2026 – www.farmersalleytheatre.com
Izzy’s husband Freddy loved Michigan. A history buff from Lambertville, his lifelong quest was a full scale re-enactment of a local battle, The Michigan-Ohio War. But when a bizarre papier-mâché accident leaves Izzy a widow, she calls on her children to return to their childhood home to see Freddy’s dream realized. Historical turns to hysterical in this comedy about family, football and what happens when a Wolverine and a Buckeye fight for the Toledo strip.
“The emotional moments connect beautifully, with good laughs along the way and an unusual surprise ending… even if you’re not a U of M football fan, you’ll definitely laugh at the characters’ obsessions.”
Detroit Free Press
“A masterpiece… combines belly-laughing humor with very poignant moments… Hilarious… 2 thumbs up, if I had 10 thumbs, I’d give it 10 thumbs up… the ending is priceless.”
Sun Times News
“Beyond being really funny, Michigan/Ohio War offers a moving look at a regular family and the emotional undercurrents that suddenly overflow as their lives gets upended.”
